Scan with the Einscan 2X plus, this then creates a surface file, known as an STL. When the 3D scan is complete the Einscan software gives 2 options to mesh the surfaces:

• Watertight: The file is totally enclosed and any missing surfaces filled to produce a watertight looking object
• Non watertight:  saves the file as is, so can then be modified later

Non watertight files are the surface files only, Watertight can be saved as an STL then used to 3D print or using some clever software……..

Now the easy bit.

The file is now converted to STEP, IGES,  or any other 3D CAD file of choice, ready to upload to Solidworks, Autodesk inventor etc, for modification, measurements, stress analysis and more.
